HVAC

Smartlife Connect manages all types of  HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems. We support IR Touch screens and Intesis Wi-Fi and KNX control for ducted HVAC. HVAC can consume anything between 60-80% of the total energy in hotels, hospitals, schools and residential homes.

Smart EV Charging

EV Smart charging helps reduce the use of fossil fuels to charge the EVs, and ensures the load of the EV chargers is maintained within the capacity of the building. It also helps with cross charging reducing cabling costs and meter costs.

Smart Solar Diverter

Our smart solar solutions detect when the premises is generating more than it is using and use the energy instead. This helps users to reduce the payback period of the solar investment.

Energy Demand Response

Energy demand response (also known as demand-side response or demand response) refers to a set of programs and incentives that aim to reduce or shift electricity use during times of high demand, in order to help stabilize the grid and reduce the need for expensive, polluting power plants to come online.

Smart Lighting

Daylight-integrated lighting control systems can be used to turn off or dim down the electric lights automatically based on the available natural light in the room, saving over 40% energy saving. Presence detection sensors and alarm integration ensures switched off when not required.  

Home Energy Management System (HEMS) and Open ADR

A smart home isn’t the house itself, but a clever system that links residential appliances together into a network and enables communication with the national electricity grid. The smart home system operates the appliances within the house to use electricity as efficiently as possible, without changing the way you use your technology. This new approach to home electricity use will reduce costs for households, take pressure off the national electricity grid, and help reduce our carbon footprint.

A Home Energy Management System (HEMS) is a system that allows homeowners to monitor and control their home's energy usage. This can be done through a variety of means, such as smart thermostats, smart appliances, and home energy monitoring devices.

The home - Any home or small business can be smart, regardless of whether you rent or own. The set-up largely focuses on technology, rather than the building.

Appliances – Smart appliances are set up to run in the most efficient way possible, and reduce unnecessary power use, especially at ‘peak’ times. Examples of appliances that can have smart capability include heat pumps, hot water cylinders, electric vehicle chargers, solar PV systems, home battery units, washing machines and dryers, and lighting systems.

Home Energy Management System (HEMS) – Smartlife Connect meets and exceeds the specification as a HEMS.  It enables centralised control of the network of smart appliances in your home. This is set up by an electrician – and can be added to a household at any time.

Flexibility Supplier – A service provider that manages the flexibility of electrical energy consumption or generation on behalf of a customer. 

National Grid - The grid is the nationwide system of electric power transmission. Your energy provider is the company that supplies energy from the grid to your home.

Open ADR (Automated Demand Response) is a communication protocol that allows utilities and other demand response providers to automatically send signals to participating buildings and devices to adjust their energy usage in response to changing energy prices or system conditions.

Open ADR can be used in conjunction with a HEMS to allow homeowners to automatically adjust their energy usage in response to changes in energy prices or system conditions. For example, if energy prices are high, a HEMS equipped with Open ADR could automatically adjust a home's thermostat to a lower setting in order to reduce energy usage.

Overall, HEMS and Open ADR are tools that can help homeowners save energy and money, while also helping to stabilize the grid and reduce the need for expensive and polluting power plants to come online.

The Smartlife platform enables the users to manage the level of control by energy type, so for example a user can default to eco mode to charge their EV, but override when necessary.
